The tour Angelus with Castel Sant’Angelo is unique because it unites religion, faith and culture together… An unforgettable Sunday signed My Roman Way!

If you come to Rome on Sunday, and you want to see the Pope, but you also want to visit everything related to the history of the largest Church in the world, My Roman Way has the tour created especially for you: Angelus and Castel Sant ‘Angelo!

Every Sunday in St. Peter’s Square Pope Francis looks out of the window of his papal apartment for the URBI ET ORBI blessing, exactly at 12:00 pm!

The appointment will be in St. Peter’s Square early in the morning. Your guide will give you some historical background on the history and foundation of the Vatican State. We will continue with an inside visit of St. Peter’s Basilica where the main works await us: from Michelangelo’s Pieta to the Bernini’s canopy.

Shortly before noon we will come out to wait for the Angelus to begin. The apostolic blessing is the best way to feel in communion with the Holy Spirit through the words of the Holy Father.

At the end we will head towards Castel Sant’Angelo: fortress, prison and stronghold, witness of numerous historical events linked to the papacy.

We will enter the Hall of Urns, the burial chamber of Emperor Hadrian and his successors. We will then admire the Armory and the papal apartments. We will end, at the last level, with the terrace where we will admire the almost 6 feet high statue that gives the name to the monument: the famous Angel represented in the act of sheathing the sword as a sign of liberation from the plague that persecuted the Romans in the 7th century.

If you are passionate about religious places, My Roman Way also offers the BASILICAS TOUR or if you want your guide, alongside you, for the tour of the Vatican Museums, please, visit the VATICAN MUSEUMS or ANCIENT ROME if you prefer to discover the history of the COLOSSEUM.
